Artist Spotlight 1: Kiara

Kiara brought face painting and bodypainting to Liminal Space! She also vended her beautiful art.


"Hi I’m Katlyn/Kiara!! I'm a student and I used to primarily sell jewelry but now I am getting into face painting and I’m going to start selling art prints of my paintings and drawings! I love all things art and music and I’m happy to be a part of Liminal Space"


Artist Spotlight 2: Edwin

Edwin brought his unique visual art and music to the June 18th Liminal Space


“Ever since I was little I’ve been passionate to do things with little to no knowledge. Doing what feels good at the time and learning in my own time. I make music and art to express myself “


Artist Spotlight 3: Joel Michael Smith

On our June 18th gathering, Joel let live collaborative woodburning and workshopping.


Joel is a graduate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena with BFA in Illustration. He is a working fine artist, illustrator and teacher. His work has been has exhibited widely including the Jack Hanley Gallery in San Francisco, the American Illustration show in New York, the On Gallery in Los Angeles, the Exploding Head gallery in Sacramento, and the Toyroom Gallery in Sacramento. He has been published by the New York Times Sunday Magazine, appeared three separate time in the America Illustration Annual, and he has been featured in Mcsweeney’s “Dear New Girl" as well as by the nonprofit publisher 826 Valencia.


Artist Spotlight 4: Avi David Sinai

Avi returned to draw live caricatures and drawings for Liminal Space guests in his unique and unmistakeable style.

Artist Spotlight 5: Tanner

Tanner brought an interactive magnetic liquid installation to our June 18th gathering!


"I've been tinkering around with interactive media for a bit and am stoked to be making something for people to mess with at Liminal Space! I'm really fascinated by computerized art that engages with people on the physical level, and want to explore this as a means of fostering communities as well as telling important stories."


Artist Spotlight 6: Cookie

Cookie led an all-levels yoga class at 6PM along to @swayor_music 's live looping ambient set!


Cookie is a dance/yoga/movement practitioner based in Santa Cruz. She teaches at Motion Pacific and with Sapphire Yoga Collective. Her teaching goes deep into the sensed experience of the body and peels back layers of accumulated tension.


Artist Spotlight 7: Jeddy

Jeddy brought spirography prints and did spiro button-making workshops


Jeddy Grant aka Morticai is a life enthusiast and connoisseur of cyclical arts. His work in Spirography and live looping explores non-ordinary reality, inviting his audience to reflect on the self and the collective. If you're lucky, you just might get the chance to find Morticai vending spiro-art (postcards, buttons and larger scale drawings) and live looping ambient sounds out in the wild. Artist Spotlight 8: Talula Peterman

Talula Peterman brought their photography skills to the June 18th gathering to document the event for Liminal Space. Thank you, Talula!


Talula Peterman performs afro, pole and trap style dance, is a tattoo and makeup artist, yogi, and a generally creative bi$hhh. If you see them around, don’t be afraid to ask for a quick portrait or dance sesh!


Artist Spotlight 9: Emery

Emery Morgan offered her Mimi’s handmade marble paintings while doing Tarot and Vedic Astrology readings.


Emery's grandmother, Katrey, has a background in jewelry, raku pottery, fashion, and painting. When quarantine hit she turned her living room into an art studio and began filling it with these incredible marble pours!


Em feels passionate about supporting and spreading artists work out into the world for the world.


Artist Spotlight 10 - Weston Mossman aka Swayor

Together with Cookie, Weston did a combination live ambient/yoga set.


"Excited to be back performing at Liminal Space, taking the leap into no-laptop ambient performance. Wrote this piece last night for Cookie and my yoga/ambient collab, all on my exercise bike."


Artist Spotlight 11: Phreeborn

Phreeborn rounded out our evening with an amazing set!


Phreeborn is a Nigerian recording artist and songwriter, who grew up listening to R&B, Hip-Hop and Afrobeats. In 2021, he moved to California to pursue his goals and vision of being one of the greatest musicians serving Pan-African afrobeats music. His music features lively dance beats, a rich mellow vocal texture and fusion of numerous African and western instruments and elements.
